Larry A. Hoffman, age 71, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at home, with his loving family by his side.
Larry was born on July 20, 1954, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ, to the late Raymond and Betty Ann Hoffman. He grew up in High Bridge, NJ, where he was raised in the High Bridge Reformed Church. Larry was also part of the second to last graduating class of High Bridge High School in 1972. He has resided in Port Murray, NJ, since 1982.
Larry was the husband of Nancy J. (Maxwell) Hoffman. Married in 1979, the two shared 46 years of marriage.
Larry worked as a first class mechanic for Jersey Central Power and Light and proudly obtained his ASE certification as Master Mechanic. He retired after 38 years of service as Fleet Service Chief in 2020.
Larry was a known for his dedication and hard work ethic and loved his job at JCP&L. When he wasn’t working overtime, he loved traveling (having visited all 50 states), fishing, and camping. Larry was also very involved with his sons, Justin and Andrew, when they were in Boy Scouts and sports. He loved cars and especially loved working on them with his sons and drag racing at the local track . Among always working on home renovations, walking his dogs gave him much joy. In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his two sons: Justin Hoffman and his wife, Jordan, of Mount Bethel, PA, and Andrew Hoffman and his wife, Stephanie, of Mount Bethel, PA. He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Rowan, Claire, and Quinn.
Larry is predeceased by his brother, David Hoffman and his grandson, Nash Hoffman.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Naughtright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main St., High Bridge, NJ. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 10 am, at High Bridge Reformed Church, 23 Church St., High Bridge, NJ. Interment will follow at Lower Valley Cemetery in Califon, NJ.
