Laurie Ann Bechler

Laurie Ann Bechler, age 65, of Asbury, NJ passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at home.

She was born on July 21, 1958 in the Bronx, NY.  She spent her childhood on Long Island, NY, and after her marriage to Thomas Bechler, the couple moved to   Piscataway NJ. They finally settled in Asbury, where Laurie lived for the last 27 years.

Laurie was predeceased by her parents, Tullio and Constance Lovisa as well as her beloved husband, Thomas John Bechler. They were married for over 23 years until his passing in 2009.

She spent her career as a Natural Health Practitioner and was devoted to those who sought her help.

Survivors include her son; Keanen Thomas Bechler and his wife Maria Beben of CA as well as Paul Drakes and his wife Lindsey of NJ and their three sons Paxton, Milo, and Sawyer.  Two siblings; Tully Lovisa and his wife Lisa and Lani Lovisa and her husband Dave Pollock. 

Laurie was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Lebanon Congregation in Clinton, NJ.

Laurie loved to laugh and had an incredibly giving, generous spirit.  She was an excellent cook and baker and loved hosting parties at her home and bringing people together.  Her love of people was matched by her love of animals of all shapes and species, many of which found their way into her home over the years. After high school, she attended the prestigious Art Students League of NY and was a phenomenally talented portrait artist and oil painter.

A memorial talk will be held at a future date.
