Lillian DelVacchio Obituary

Lillian DelVacchio, age 84, of Pittstown, formerly of Warren, NJ, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson Somerset in Somerville, NJ.

She was born on March 29, 1937, in New York, NY. She resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Pittstown since 2018, moving from Warren Twp., NJ.

She was the daughter of the late Maria Massiello Franco

Her husband, Ralph DelVacchio passed away in September 2020 after 64 years of marriage. Never a day since the age of 14 was she without him or him without her.

Lillian worked as a Teacher’s Paraprofessional in the Warren Twp. School District until her retirement. She was instrumental in organizing a paraprofessional’s union for her workmates.

Memberships include the Warren Senior Citizens Club where she oversaw entertainment.

She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge and bowling. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren, and she was very involved with all their activities.

Survivors include five children: Tina Spadafora of Bethlehem Twp., NJ, Valerie Furno and her husband Dennis of Toms River, NJ, Michael DelVacchio, Diana Russillo and her husband Dominick of Pittstown, NJ and Richard DelVacchio and his wife Katrina of Flemington, NJ. Nine grandchildren; Nicole Spadafora, Adam Spadafora and his wife Jill, Gabrielle Russillo, Olivia Russillo, Dominic Russillo, Raquel DelVacchio, Noah DelVacchio, Troy DelVacchio and Layla DelVacchio. 1 Great Grandaughter; Pheobe Spadafora.

Predeceased in addition to her husband by her sister, Angelina Ross who passed away in September 2021, and her son-in-law; Joseph Spadafora who passed away in August of 2021.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 10am at Church of the Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, 80 Main Street, Bloomsbury, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ.

Arrangements are under the direction of Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
