Linda Lee Schomp, age 79, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at home.
She was born on December 16, 1944 in Somerville, NJ. She grew up on farms in Bedminster, Lebanon and Clear Valley Farm in Asbury, NJ. She resided in her home in Clinton Twp, NJ since 1968.
She was the daughter of the late William Taylor and Myrtle Michaelis Jelliffe.
Linda was the wife of Robert Preston Schomp Sr., celebrating 57 years of marriage.
Linda had various jobs over the years including babysitting and cleaning. She retired from the Hunterdon Tennis Center in Lebanon, NJ after working there for 35 years.
Linda taught Sunday School at Stanton Reformed Church years ago. She also was very involved at Tabby’s Place in Ringoes, NJ.
Linda loved stamping and crafting. She also loved dancing, especially to 50’s and 60’s music. She loved going to classic car shows with her husband and showcasing their cars in the Lebanon Borough 4th of July parade every year. She also sold Avon for many years.
Survivors in addition to her loving husband include two sons; Robert Preston Schomp Jr. of Clinton Twp., NJ and William Jay Schomp and his wife Bonnie of Kingwood Twp., NJ. Two grandchildren; William Preston Schomp and Aubrey Schomp. Four siblings; William Taylor Jelliffe III, Karl ‘Jake’ Jelliffe, Nancy Bylik and ‘Chick’ Parr. Several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by one daughter; Bonnie Lee Schomp who passed away in 1972.
Calling hours will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 2-5pm. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 23, 2024 at 11am. All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment at Union Cemetery in Lebanon, NJ.
