Lois A. Philhower

Lois A. Philhower, age 91, a life-time resident of High Bridge, NJ, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at her home.  She was born on December 18, 1930.  

She was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Lindemann Crampton.

Her husband, Robert H. ‘Red’ Philhower, passed away in 2002 after 45 years of marriage.

Lois was a graduate of High Bridge High School.

She worked in the cafeteria at High Bridge Elementary and Middle Schools, North Hunterdon Regional High School and Voorhees High School.  In her early career, she worked as a Telephone Operator for NJ Telephone Company.

Memberships include High Bridge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the High Bridge Reformed Church.

Lois enjoyed crocheting and cross stitch.  She was an excellent baker and everyone always looked forward to her baked goods at the High Bridge Carnival and Church dinners.

Survivors include two daughters; Linda M. Kane and her husband William of Aston, PA and Lori A. Cregar and her husband John of Kingwood Twp., NJ.  Three grandsons; Nicholas Kane, Eric Kane and his fiancé Caitlyn Pitone and Derek Cregar.  She is also survived by two siblings; George Crampton and his wife Peggy of Englewood, FL and Barbara Skripko of Hampton, NJ.

Predeceased in addition to her husband by four siblings; Joyce Shaub, Joan Hoffman, Marilyn Crampton and Larry ‘Homer’ Crampton. 

Calling hours will take place on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 6-9pm at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ.  Additional calling hour will be Saturday June 11, 2022 from 10am-11am at High Bridge Reformed Church, 23 Church Street, High Bridge, NJ.  Funeral Service will follow at 11am at the Church.  Interment at Union Cemetery in Lebanon, NJ.
