Lorraine Emma Hintz

Lorraine Emma Hintz, age 95, of Lebanon Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 10, 1926 in Kearny, NJ.  She spent her childhood in Kearny and had resided in Lebanon Twp. since 1958.

She was the daughter of the late Paul Peter and Amelia (Eul) Schuckhaus. 

Her beloved husband, Otto Hintz, passed away in 2008 after 56 years of marriage. 

Lorraine graduated from Trenton State Teacher’s College with her B.S. in Physical Education.  She spent her career working as an Elementary Physical Education Teacher.  She taught in Newton first, and then in Readington Township School District.  She also enjoyed running the after school activities program at school.

Memberships include Lower Valley Presbyterian Church in Califon, NJ where she was a member since the 1950’s. 

Lorraine was an incredible swimmer.  She swam competitively in High School and College and also enjoyed instructing swimming.  She also enjoyed bowling.  She was on several Leagues, including a League in Whitehouse, NJ and Washington, NJ. 

Survivors include her five children; Geoffrey K. Hintz and his wife Karen of East Aurora, NY, Douglas E. Hintz and his wife Janet of Ormond Beach, FL, Ronald A. Hintz and his wife June of Woodbury, MN, Richard O. Hintz and his wife Tara of Lebanon Twp., NJ and Heidi L. Hintz of Lebanon Twp., NJ.  Thirteen grandchildren.  Five great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by one brother; Edward Lester and his wife Giselle of Naples, FL.  Sister-in-law; Audrey Schuckhaus.

Predeceased in addition to her husband by one brother; Paul N. Schuckhaus. 

Visitation and Funeral Service will be private.  Arrangements are under the direction of Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
