Lorraine Y. Kuras, age 78, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp, NJ.
She was born on November 7, 1944 in Jersey City, NJ. She resided in Clinton Twp., NJ since 1980, moving from Rahway, NJ.
She was the daughter of the late George and Viola Morris Discher.
Lorraine was the wife of Christopher E. Kuras, celebrating 54 years of marriage.
While Lorraine spent many years raising her family, she also worked as a key punch operator for AM Best in Whitehouse, NJ and later Yale in Flemington, NJ.
Lorraine was passionate about making homemade cards. Her friends and family knew they could expect a handmade card from her for any occasion. She was even in a card making club, which she enjoyed. She was very crafty and enjoyed making numerous crafts.
She was also an avid Giants fan and loved fishing. She enjoyed fishing with her husband on their boat down the shore as she caught many big fish that she was proud of. She especially loved fishing for striped bass. She had many great experiences on their boat and was never afraid to go out, even if storms were on the horizon.
Survivors in addition to her loving husband include three children; Adam Kuras and his wife Elli of Flemington, NJ, Joanne Sapanaro and her fiancé Mat Benol of Asbury, NJ and Edward Kuras of Chicago, IL. Six grandchildren; A.J. Kuras, Thomas Sapanaro, Doug Kuras, Julia Sapanaro, Chloe Kuras and Jenna Sapanaro. One brother; Wally Corbran. She is also survived by her cousin; Dottie Bodtman.
Lorraine was also predeceased by several siblings.
Calling hours will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 12-3pm with funeral service at 3pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Entombment at Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Annandale, NJ will be private.
