Louis Perry Jr. Obituary

Louis F. Perry Jr., age 86, of Lebanon Twp., NJ passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at home.

He was born on February 13, 1934 in Plainfield, NJ.  He lived in Lebanon Twp., NJ for the past 45 years after moving from Plainfield, NJ.

He was the son of the late Louis F. Perry Sr. and Josephine Angelone Perry.

Lou was the husband of Barbara M. Polewka Perry, celebrating 60 years of marriage.

He was a US. Marine Corps. Veteran, serving from 1953 to 1956.

Lou was a fireman with Plainfield Fire Department until his retirement in 1981.  He also operated his own floor covering business for many years.

Memberships include St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in High Bridge, NJ where he was also a member of their Knights of Columbus, the Gem Vac Veterans in Glen Gardner, a Jeepster Club and, also, the Lebanon Twp. Fire Department.  

Lou had a passion for antique cars and he enjoyed attending car shows.  He also loved countryand western movies and music.  Years ago, he enjoyed fishing and crabbing at his family home down the shore.  He was also very involved with Voorhees High School sports, especially wrestling and the “Chain Gang”.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife, include two children; Nancy L. Rumpf and her husband Randy of Lebanon Twp., NJ and Scott F. Perry of Forked River, NJ.  Four grandchildren; Amy DaSilva and her husband Brian of Palmer Twp., PA, Matthew Rumpf of Budd Lake, NJ, Dylan Carr of Lebanon Twp., NJ and Mark Carr of Lebanon Twp., NJ.  One great-granddaughter; Olivia DaSilva.  He is also survived by one sister; Rosemarie Bruno and her husband Anthony of Lavallette, NJ.  One sister-in-law; Theresa Perry of Bridgewater, NJ.  

Predeceased by one daughter; Susan M. Carr who passed away in 2017 and one brother; Carmen (Buddy) Perry who passed in 2006.  

Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 3pm – 7pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 10am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 59 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ.  Entombment at Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Annandale, NJ.
