Madeline Volturo (Borkowski), age 75, of Bethlehem Twp., NJ, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at her home. Born on July 9, 1949 in Newark, NJ, to Bernice and Joseph Borkowski, Mattie (as she was known) spent her childhood years in Hillside, NJ and graduated from Hillside High School.
Mattie married the love of her life, Frank Volturo, and settled in Bethlehem, Twp. NJ, for the last 26 years. Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage. She loved gardening, painting, art and photography. She also loved spending weekends at their lake house, in Pennsylvania, and winters in Bonita Beach, Florida. Mattie was a hairdresser at “Roses in Your Hair”, in Clinton, NJ., before her retirement.
Mattie is survived by her husband Frank, her son Frank, Jr., and his wife Sarah of Easton, Pennsylvania, her grandchildren, Vito and Francesca Volturo, and her brother Benjamin Borkowski, of Boothbay, Maine. Mattie also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Vito, who passed away in 2020, on November 21, the same day as his mother, her brother Theodore (Teddy) Borkowski, and her parents.
Visiting hours will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Her memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
