Margaret Bennett Andiorio, age 97, of Tewksbury Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at home.
She was born on January 16, 1927 in Plainfield, NJ. She spent her childhood in Plainfield and North Plainfield, NJ. She lived in Gladstone for many years before moving in with her daughter 12 years ago in Tewksbury Twp., NJ.
She was the daughter of the late Allen E. and Bessie Bond Beals.
Margaret’s first husband, Stephen L. Bennett passed away in 1984. Her second husband, William C. Andiorio, passed away in 2010.
Marge, as most knew her, had a full and active life. In addition to raising daughters and household of family pets, camping, and being a Girl Scout leader, she engaged a long career.
Spanning four decades in banking, she worked for Plainfield Trust and later became Assistant Vice President in the trust department at United Trust Bank.
In later years Marge had the opportunity for international travel to Israel, the British Isles, Germany and many other counties.
She served her community as a volunteer at the local library and as a devoted Christian, her church as an usher and greeter. As a lifelong flower garden lover Marge was a member of the Hunterdon Hills Garden Club where she especially took pleasure in making floral bouquets for Meals on Wheels.
Even in her nineties Marge was a vibrant member of the Golden Club where she enjoyed many social activities and trips such as attending the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall, and Jersey shore outings.
Marge will always be remembered for entertaining family and friends by dressing up in her elf costume at Christmas and reading a “The Night Before Christmas”.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Nancy Young and her husband Thomas of Tewksbury, NJ and Diane Legare and her husband Ross of Surry, NH, two granddaughters, Bessie M. Young of MA and Anna Tas and her husband Elliot, great granddaughter Laila Tas of East Windsor, NJ. Much loved nieces and nephews, Susan Woerner, Patricia Hamer, Bill and Brenda Bergen, and Babs and Rod Winton.
Blended family members Amber, Mike, Noah and Noelle Brady, Tom Wydner, Trudy and Dean Brown, Nicholas, Laura, Erica, and Hannah Issermoyer.
Predeceased in addition to her two husbands by four siblings, Allen W. Beals, Richard Beals, Betty Bergen and William Beals. She is also predeceased by her best friend and sister-in-law; Louise Graves, and step-daughters Terri Geissler and Maria Davis.
Marge’s daughters would like to offer deep thanks and appreciation to Lucy, Lori, Nancy G, Kathy, and Connie for years of devoted and loving home care for Marge.
Memorial and ceremony will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
