Margretta Ann Griesheimer, age 84, of Lebanon Twp., NJ, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at home, with her loving family by her side.
Margretta was born on December 23, 1940, to the late John and Gloria (Lizotte) Dempsey in Newark, NJ. She spent her childhood in Hillside, NJ, before moving to Summit, NJ and later Lebanon Twp., NJ, where she resided for the past 50 years.
Margretta was the wife of the late Charles Griesheimer, who passed away in 2005.
Margretta worked as a registered nurse her entire career.
Margretta was very kind and generous. She helped run numerous non profit thrift stores. She loved to help at the Chester thrift store and enjoyed volunteering. She would donate to lots of organizations in need.
Margretta is survived by her two children: Bonnie Sayers of CA and Charles Griesheimer and his wife, Jane, of Milford, NJ. Three grandchildren: Nicholas, Matthew, and Drew. Three siblings: Robert Dempsey and his wife, Adrienne, of Bloomsbury, NJ; James Dempsey of Greenwich Twp., NJ; Mary Bate and her husband, Paul, of Hampton, NJ.
In addition to her husband, Margretta is predeceased by her daughter, Susan Ann, who passed in 2022, and her brother, John Dempsey Jr.
All services are private.
