Maria Pohore

Maria Pohore, age 78, of Lebanon Twp., NJ passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ.

She was born on February 20, 1944 in Korczmin, Poland.  She immigrated to Canada at age 14 where she won a regional beauty pageant. She later settled in Brooklyn, NY and lived there until 2015 when she moved to Glen Gardner, NJ.

She was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Bedryk.

Her beloved husband, William S. Pohore, passed away in 2019 after 51 years of marriage.

Maria loved orchids, enjoyed time with her dogs and cats, and creating Ukrainian Easter eggs which she was passionate about.  She also loved to cook and was known for her duck a l’orange which her family raved about.

Survivors include four children; Christopher Pohore of Brooklyn , NY, Michelle Pohore of Lebanon Twp., NJ, Stephen Pohore and his wife Meagan of Wyoming, NY and Carolyn Divers and her husband John of Jacksonville, FL.  Two grandsons; Kevin Pohore and Sebastian Pohore.  She is also survived by three siblings; Michael Bedryk and his wife Mirka of Green Point, NY, Adam Bedryk and Vladic Bedryk.  

Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 9am-10am at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ.  Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday at 11am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 398 County Road 513, Califon, NJ.  Interment at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, NJ.
