Maria Del Rosario (Vasquez) Tocto

Maria Del Rosario Vasquez Tocto, age 74, of Lebanon, NJ passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.

She was born on August 30, 1948 in Lima, Peru. She immigrated to the United States when she was 40 years old and has spent many years splitting her time between New York, New Jersey, Mississippi, and Peru.

She was the daughter of the late Julio Vásquez and Graciela Morales.

Rosario worked various jobs over the years but her most important job was to raise her two daughters, and to make sure they both obtained a college education.

Rosario was a strong woman despite many challenges, and suffering throughout her life. She had a lot of love in her heart for everyone, and her smile would always lit up any room.

She was passionate about cooking. She enjoyed sharing recipes and cooking for her family. She enjoyed spending time in Peru with her beloved family and friends.

 Survivors in addition to her husband, Luciano Tocto, include two daughters; Milagros Altamirano and her husband Giovanni of Madison, MS and Ruth V. Karavidas and her husband Phil of Lebanon, NJ. Two grandchildren; Gianna Altamirano and Nicholas Karavidas.  She is also survived by seven siblings including her sister Veronica Gabriela Bocanegra and her husband Juan of FL.

Calling hours will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 10am to 12pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
