Marjorie A. Ruff

Marjorie A. Ruff, age 86, a longtime resident of Scotch Plains, NJ passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ.

She was born on August 18, 1934 in Bloomfield, NJ.  She lived in Kenilworth, moved to Scotch Plains in 1967 and lived there for 53 years before moving to Fanwood, NJ.   

She was the daughter of the late Vernon and Marion Hawthorn Hawksworth.

Her husband, Robert Bernard Ruff, passed away in 2016 after 61 years of marriage.

Marjorie enjoyed a very active lifestyle.  She loved playing tennis, golf,  bowling and playing bridge. 

Survivors include one son; Robert Ruff and his wife Wendy of Lithia, FL. One daughter; Karen Guss and her husband Bertram of Flemington, NJ.  Five grandchildren; Eric Tiedmann and his fianceé Brianna McConnell, Amanda Ruff, Morgan Ruff, Adam Guss and his wife Diana and Daniel Guss and his wife Kristina and their daughter Nina, Marjorie's great-granddaughter.

Predeceased in addition to her husband by one brother; Harry Hawksworth and one one sister; Irene Jacobus.

All services will be private.  Interment will take place at a future date at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
