Mark Allan Nelson

Mark Allan Nelson, age 59, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at home.

He was born on June 2, 1961 in South Amboy, NJ.  He spent his childhood in Sayreville, NJ and moved to Tewksbury Twp. when he was in 8th grade. He resided in Clinton Twp. For the past 30 years.

He was the son of the late Richard Nelson who passed in 2019 and Marilyn Joyce Schmitt Nelson who passed in 2018.

He was the husband of Susan J. Duffy Nelson, celebrating 36 years of marriage.  

He was self-employed for his entire career, owning and operating Town and Country Fencing in Lebanon, NJ for over 37 years. 

Mark was an avid hunter.  He enjoyed camping with his family.  As a child, he traveled the country with his parents and brothers.  He loved music; Elvis, country and oldies were some of his favorites.  He also loved muscle cars, especially his 1967 Pontiac GTO which he was very proud of.  Mark also enjoyed spending time at his house in Georgia and he was looking forward to his retirement there.  

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include one son; Mark Nelson of Lebanon, NJ and one daughter; Jennifer Nelson of Evans Mills, NY.  Two brothers; Richard Nelson and his wife MaryAnn of Inverness, FL and David Nelson and his wife Barbara of Bradenton, FL.  Brother-in-law; Steven Duffy and his wife Carol of Plymouth, MA.  Several nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by Aunt Mary Matysik of Sayreville, NJ and his Uncle Gerald Schmitt of Dewey, AZ.  Several cousins.  

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.  Funeral Service will be Friday, October 16, 2020 at 12:30pm.  All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Cokesbury, NJ.  

**Due to the current restrictions regarding COVID-19, all guests are required to wear a face mask.  No more then 100 individuals will be allowed in the funeral home at a time. **
