Mary L. Hansen, age 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ.
Born and raised in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ, where she spent many happy years, Mary moved to Linden, NJ in 1993, a year after her marriage to John J. Hansen. They moved to Annandale, NJ in 2013 to be closer to her children.
Mary’s beloved husband, John, passed away in 2022. Before his passing, the two celebrated 30 years of marriage together.
In addition to her husband, John, Mary is predeceased by her first beloved husband, George J. Fuchs, who passed away in 1985 after 35 years of marriage, as well as her parents, Henry and Louise Kwatkoski.
In her early years, Mary worked for the Prudential Insurance Company, and then as an office manager for a mechanical contractor, after being a stay-at-home mom for 18 years. She retired in 1992.
Mary was a member of Wolff Memorial Presbyterian Church in Newark, NJ for over 70 years, where she served as church secretary and then as an Elder for many years. She was also a member of the Deutscher Club of Clark for over 40 years, where she enjoyed fellowship and dancing.
Mary enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, game nights and, most of all, time spent with her family. She was most proud of her grandsons, Michael and Kurt, as well as her children. She always said she had led a most blessed life.
Mary is survived by her two loving children, Kenneth Fischer and Karen Mealey, both of Clinton, NJ. She also leaves behind her two adored grandsons, Michael Mealey and Kurt Fischer.
