Michael Joseph Amend

Michael Joseph Amend, age 34, of High Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at St. Luke’s Fountain Hill Hospital in Bethlehem, PA.

He was born on March 9, 1990 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Andalusia and Warrington, PA. Michael graduated from Central Bucks South High School in Warrington, PA.

He resided in High Bridge, New Jersey with his wife and fur babies for the past two years, moving from Lebanon, New Jersey.

Michael was the son of Joseph and Susan Amend of Warrington, Pennsylvania.

Michael was the loving and devoted husband to Danielle Morgan Strobridge, celebrating over eight years together and almost two years of marriage. The couple shared an incredible bond. He was also the best "papa" to his beloved furbabies, Elvie, his cat, and Coconut, his bunny.

Michael worked for Verano in Branchburg, New Jersey as a driver and served as the Union Shop Steward for his location. He was very involved and passionate about making the workplace better for everyone.

Michael had an immense passion for history, as he was always interested in the Revolutionary War and historical re-enactments. He also loved nature, fishing, gardening, animals, and just being outside. He very much enjoyed going on walks with Danielle, especially on the Columbia Trail. He and Danielle also loved going to LBI, and it was a special place for them from the beginning of their relationship. Michael was always learning and could always be found listening to audiobooks, podcasts, watching videos, reading, and soaking up whatever knowledge he could. But most of all, Michael loved his family and his friends. 

In addition to his parents and his wife, he is survived by his brother, Matthew Amend, and his partner, Zoey Gwalthney, of Warrington, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his in-laws, Gloria and Troy Smith of Lebanon, New Jersey and John Strobridge and his partner, Mary Clucas, of Castle Rock, Colorado. He also is survived by his sister-in-law, Shelley Strobridge, and her husband, Alex Dixon, of High Bridge, New Jersey. He has one niece, Nora Strobridge, whom he absolutely adored and was so proud to be her uncle. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Donna ‘Dub’ Sergent, of Warrington, Pennsylvania. He has many aunts, uncles, and cousins, all who love him very much.

We will be holding a celebration of Michael's life on Monday, October 28, 2024. Visitation hours will take place on from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a service to honor Michael beginning at 12:00PM. We also invite anyone who loved Michael to share any words that they would like to as well. The celebration of his life will take place at  Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home located at 26 Main Street in Lebanon, NJ.
