Michael G. Hudecek, age 61, of Mount Bethel, PA passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Spring Village at Pocono in East Stroudsburg, PA.
He was born on February 27, 1960 in Flemington, NJ. He spent his childhood in Lebanon, NJ and resided in Mount Bethel, PA for the past 21 years.
Mike was the son of Janet Wilbur Marks of Stroudsburg, PA and the late Rudolph S. Hudecek.
He was the husband of Kathleen Shea Hudecek, celebrating 31 years of marriage.
Mike is a US Navy Veteran where he served with the Seabees. While his home port was in California, he lived in Okinawa, Japan; Sigonella, Sicily; and Guam. He remained close with his Seabee family throughout the years.
Mike was an HVAC Technician for Super Heat, Inc. in Mount Bethel, PA for over 25 years until his retirement in 2015.
Mike was an active member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Portland, PA.
Mike had many passions in life including practicing Martial Arts (he was a green belt in Vee Arnis Jitsu) and was a Rock Steady boxer. Mike played guitar since he was 12 years old and was in several rock bands over the years. He enjoyed music immensely. Mike also had many other hobbies including knife sharpening and whittling, knot tying, gardening, camping, hiking and kayaking. He also had three German Shepherds that he trained and adored.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife, Kathleen, and mother, Janet, include two children; Stephen Hudecek of Queens, NY and Erin Hudecek and her husband Scott Silberstein of Duxbury, VT. Michael had three sisters; Lori Clayson and her husband Brent of Springville, UT, Jill Minarik and her husband Joe of Shawnee on Delaware, PA and Bonnie Beaver and her husband Mark of Stroudsburg, PA, as well as 11 nieces and nephews. He is also survived by devoted friend, unending supporter and HVAC partner in crime, Paul Taylor. Mike could crack a joke and make a friend anywhere, and he will be deeply missed by all.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 5-8pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 11am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 59 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ. Interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Annandale, NJ.
