Muriel L. Komoski, age 94, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving daughters.
Muriel was born on March 16, 1928 in Queens, NY. and resided in the same home in Clinton Twp. for the past 54 years.
Muriel was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Handte Geller.
Muriel’s husband, Richard E. Komoski passed away in 2009 after 54 years of marriage.
Muriel had various jobs throughout her lifetime including working as a secretary at Texaco and she also spent many years as a homemaker. Later in life, Muriel earned her Nursing Degree while her youngest daughter also attended Nursing School. She taught swimming lessons at the Deer Path YMCA well into her 80’s. Muriel was awarded the YMCA Volunteer of the Year award in 1995.
Muriel was a huge force in the Hunterdon County community. She was involved with the partners in caring at Hunterdon Medical Cancer Center and also volunteered at the Hunterdon Medical Center for many years. Muriel was an active lifetime member of the Garden Club of Hunterdon Hills. She played Mrs. Claus in the Clinton Christmas parade. Muriel has been a long-time active member of the Lebanon Reformed Church where she was involved with both the Choir and Bell Choir. She was also a member of the ‘Bells and Bows’ Choir and enjoyed singing at local nursing homes with the organization. Muriel was a lifetime Girl Scout member and also a member of the Delhigh Power Squadron.
Muriel loved flowers and enjoyed making floral arrangements. She was very creative, an accomplished seamstress and an avid swimmer. She loved painting, cooking and gardening. Muriel will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her three daughters; Jayne K. Burger and her husband Robert of Palmyra, VA, Jeanne W. Ferrigno and her husband Jim of Monroe, NY and Leigh K. Hogan and her husband Patrick of Verona, NJ. Two grandchildren; Devon Burger Rousseau and her husband Benjamin and Patrick Hogan.
Predeceased in addition to her beloved husband includes one brother; Kenneth Geller who passed away in 1976.
Calling hours will take place on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 4pm – 8pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Funeral Service will be Monday, October 3, 2022 at 11am at Lebanon Reformed Church, 100 Brunswick Avenue, Lebanon, NJ. Interment to follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ.
