Nancy J. Gallaway, 84, of Bethlehem Township, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on December 12, 2023.
Born November 5, 1939, in Plainfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Eleanor J. (Heuett) Stutz.
Nancy retired from A.M. Best in Oldwick. After her retirement she enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels, the Senior Center, and the Red Mill.
Nancy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening, planting flowers of every variety. She enjoyed bird-watching from her kitchen window, spent many hours on crossword puzzles, and never ever missed a Jeopardy episode. She prided herself on finding the perfect gifts with coordinating wrapping paper that expressed how much she loved her family. Grammy, as her grandchildren lovingly called her, also enjoyed antiquing, walking through flea markets and seasonal festivals.
Nancy was predeceased by her beloved husband George L. Gallaway, after 37 wonderful years, and was heartbroken by the loss of her daughter, Kathleen A. Gallaway in 2022. She is also predeceased by her brother George Stutz.
Survivors include two sons, William G. and his wife Katherine of Erwinna, PA and Kenneth S. and his wife Mary Ann of Clinton, NJ; a daughter Kimberly J. Peverley and her husband Martin of Clinton, NJ; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Nathan, Nicole, Joseph and Marissa Gallaway, Ian Peverley and Krystle Shah and four great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Emilia and Madelyn Shah and Sawyer Gallaway; Patricia Hoehn, long-time partner to Nancy's daughter, Kathleen A. Gallaway; her nieces Shirleen Koenig (Scott), Elizabeth Stutz, and Jennifer Lane, and nephew Robert Stutz and their children.
Visitation will be held 2-5 pm, Sunday, December 17th in the Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main St, Lebanon, NJ. Funeral services will be held 9:00 am Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be at the Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook, NJ.
