Noel Carol Brown

Noel Carol Brown, age 72, of Wilson Borough, PA, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, PA.

Noel was born on December 25, 1952, in Somerville, NJ, to the late Alexander Raymond and Carol Jean (Geist) Dunn. She resided in Califon, NJ, for many years before moving to Easton, PA in 1986, where she has lived since.

Noel graduated from North Hunterdon High School and went on to attend Fordham University and Columbia University in New York City, NY, earning her master’s degree. She worked as a social worker for the New Jersey State Division of Developmental Disabilities until her retirement in 2024.

Her beloved husband, Thomas Brown, passed away in 2007.

Noel loved spending her time outside hiking and biking. She especially taking her bike on ‘the rail trail’. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Noel had a big heart for animals, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, writing, and especially reading. She loved being with her family and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Noel also loved being a social worker and getting to help people through her work and political activism.  

Noel is survived by her loving daughter, Alison Lendvai of Easton, PA. Her five grandchildren: Thomas Alexander Lendvai, Rowen Rose Marie Simonetta, Jethro Phoenix Kissel, Evangeline Adelaide Kissel, and Stevie Ray Lendvai Kissel. She is also survived by her three step-grandchildren: Seth, Anastasia, and Liam Kissel.

In addition to her husband, Noel is predeceased by her two sons, Thomas Alexander Brown, who passed away in 2005, and Stephen Andrew Joseph Lendvai, who passed away in 2024. She is also predeceased by her sister, Sue Ellen Smith.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 6-8pm at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Califon United Methodist Church at 11am, 15 Raritan River Road, Califon, NJ. Interment will follow at Lower Valley Cemetery in Califon, NJ.
