Norma Jean Rice, age 94, of Clinton, NJ, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at home.
Born on October 23, 1929, in Old Forge, PA, she lived in Pennsylvania until she moved to Clinton with her husband and family in 1964. The daughter of the late Stanley and Ollie Morgan Reese, she was raised by her Aunt Emily and Uncle William Morgan after her mother’s passing.
Norma was a graduate of Taylor High School in Taylor, PA, and studied at East Stroudsburg State Teachers College. Norma worked in Clinton Public School cafeteria for 31 years and in High Bridge Middle School cafeteria for 4 years. She was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church, having just been recognized for her 60+ years.
Among Norma’s pastimes were her enjoyable trips to Atlantic City with her two best friends Betty and Angie. She also loved spending time with her family and taking trips to Disney World.
Norma is survived by her daughter Christine of Clinton, NJ and two grandchildren Jonathan Eastman of North Vernon, IN and Kate Eastman and her fiancé Charles Frey of Columbia, MO.
Her beloved husband of 18 years John E. Rice predeceased Norma in 1970, as well as two daughters, Karen Emily Rice in 1953 and Nancy J. Eastman in 2016, her son – in- law Michael J. Eastman, her brother Robert Reese and many beloved cousins.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11am at Clinton United Methodist.
