Olympia Rose Pannone, age 102, of Califon, NJ passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at home.
She was born on May 21, 1921 in Bound Brook, NJ.
She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Capano Longordo.
Her beloved husband, Joseph Pannone passed away in 1997.
Olympia worked as a fourth grade teacher in the Manville Schools until her retirement in 1986. She was an intelligent woman who graduated from Douglass college in 1942. Olympia was an avid reader and could solve any crossword puzzle. She was a devout and humble Catholic who loved spending time with her family. Olympia traveled the world and shared her time in Delray Beach, FL and NJ in her younger years. She was loving and kind to all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter; Jane Pannone and her husband Richard McCann of Kiawah Island, SC. Three sons; Paul Pannone of Plainfield, NJ, Joseph Pannone of Medford Lakes, NJ and Stephen Pannone and his wife Barbara of Califon, NJ.
Olympia is also survived by five grandchildren; Jana Rojas, Jill Ercolano, Elizabeth Pasquarella, Lee and Jackson Pannone, as well as her great-grandchildren, Raissa, Joseph, Julia, Anthony and Paul.
In addition to her husband, Joseph, Olympia is also predeceased by her two brothers; Pasquale Longordo and Dominic Longordo, and her sister; Antoinette McLaughlin.
Olympia was a humble and devout woman who loved God and her family with all her heart.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday June 15, 2023 from 4-8pm at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ. Funeral Mass will be Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:30am at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 265 W. Mill Road, Long Valley, NJ. Interment to follow at Lower Valley Cemetery in Califon, NJ.
