Patrick Thomas Ricciardi (May 28, 1953-February 22, 2021)

We mourn the loss of our dear son, husband, father, and grandfather, Pat Ricciardi, of Tewksbury Township, who passed away from complications due to the coronavirus.  Born in Newark, NJ, the child of Eleanore (Daniel) and the late Thomas Ricciardi, Pat was often described as a gentle giant, a generous and loving man who was a fantastic multisport athlete, a superb party thrower, a lover of ribald jokes, an energetic NY Giants tailgater, and a devoted father who never missed any of his five children’s sports games.  He was a 1975 graduate of Marietta College in Ohio, and he earned a master’s degree in 1977 from Springfield College in Massachusetts.  He worked as a general contractor for many years, growing Kellan Building Company into a thriving business alongside his beloved wife, Joanne Murphy Ricciardi, whom he married in 1976.  A forty-year resident of Tewksbury, he often volunteered as a children’s sports coach and served for many years as head of the Tewksbury Library Board.  In addition to all of this, Pat often made sure that neighbors and friends felt safe and cared for; he would (literally) give the shirt off of his back or the dinner off of his table to someone in need.  He was deeply loved and will be terribly missed.  In addition to his mother, Eleanore, and his wife, Joanne, he is survived by his five children and their partners: Ryan Ricciardi (Ryan Melling) of Augusta, Ga; Kelly Ricciardi Colvin (William Colvin) of Winchester, Ma; Thomas Ricciardi (Katherine Farrell) of London, England; Tracy Ricciardi (Christopher Tow) of Watertown, Ma; and Katie Ricciardi (Ashin Modak) of San Francisco, Ca.  He is also survived by four grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers or donations, they ask that you please cherish your loved ones, live with great gusto, and wear a mask.
