Rachel Rebecca Coats

Rachel Rebecca Coats, age 94, of Annandale, NJ passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.

Rachel was a wonderful and beloved mother who was always there when her family needed her. She was the center of the universe for a family that included her husband, two children,  eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

She was born on April 17, 1929 in Avenel, NJ.  

She was the daughter of the late Christopher and Helen Behrens. 

Rachel was the wife of Glenn Coats Sr., celebrating 74 years of marriage. 

Prior to her retirement, Rachel was an LPN working for various institutions throughout her career including the Hunterdon Care Center, Rolling Hills Care Center and Hagedorn Psychiatric Hospital. 

Survivors in addition to her loving husband include one son; Glenn Coats Jr. and his wife Joan of Carolina Shores, NC. One daughter; Crystal Coats Schwartz and her husband Robert of Elkins Park, PA. Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister; Teresa Fredericks of FL. 

Predeceased by one brother, Christopher Behrens, and one step-granddaughter, Jessica Schwartz. 

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 10am to 11am with funeral service at 11am.  All will be at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Entombment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery & Mausoleum, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ.
