Raymond Buel Smith

Raymond Buel Smith, age 81, of Kingwood Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.  

He was born on February 13, 1941 in Eldred, IL. He spent his childhood in Illinois before moving to New Jersey.

He was the son of the late Ruffard and Evelyn Wilson Smith.

He was the husband of Tamara Sougiria Bownath.

Raymond’s first wife, Wanda Smith passed away in 1999.

He was an Union Iron Worker for his entire career. 

Raymond enjoyed working and farming.  He was also passionate about flying as he had his pilot’s license. 

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include two daughters; Tammy Prostak and her husband Robert of Pattenburg, NJ and Tina Dabkowski and her husband Joseph of Stockton, NJ.  Four grandchildren; Heather DelGadio and her husband Brian, Dustin Prostak, Heidi Garcia and her husband Carlos and Kaitlyn Prostak.  Two great-granddaughters; Nattalie Garcia and Lillian DelGadio.  He is also survived by one sister; Janet Lanb and her husband Frank of IL. 

Calling hours will take place on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Entombment on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11am at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ.
