He was born on June 5, 1940 to Peter and Dorothy Catanio.
Moose grew up in Readington where he lived most of his life until moving to Stewartsville in 1986.
He thoroughly enjoyed farming, John Wayne movies, listening to country western music while restoring old trucks and lawn mowers, and tending his tomato garden. Moose was an avid card player. Along with his family, his greatest accomplishment was losing 150 pounds.
In his lifetime he was an over the road trucker, farmer, landscaper, and jack of all trades. In his early adulthood, he was a volunteer Fire Fighter in Readington.
Moose was always generous with his advice and wallet for those who needed it.
He was known for his ‘Moose-isms’ – for instance ‘drier than a popcorn fart’, ‘sh*ttin’ in high cotton’ and ‘I’ll be go to hell’.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis of 48 years, five children and their spouses; Peter, Lisa and her husband Frank, Paul and his wife Donna, Cheryl and her husband Ray, and Michele.
