Richard L. Clickner, age 89, of Califon, NJ passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
He was born on September 27, 1933 in New Brunswick, NJ. He resided in Califon for over 30 years, moving from Monroe Twp., NJ.
He was the son of the late Percy and Elizabeth Ruskie Clickner.
Richard spent his career working in the sheet metal industry. He was owner/operator for Cranbury Automotive until his retirement. He worked on numerous dirt race track cars that ran mostly at Flemington Speedway.
He was a dedicated member of the Sheet Metal Worker’s Union Local #27 for 65 years. He was a past officer of the organization and was active in their retiree group.
Richard enjoyed dirt track racing and watching tennis. He was an avid Brooklyn Dodger fan.
Survivors include four children; Robyn Clickner Ielmini and her husband Paul of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, Richard F. Clickner and his wife Judy of Jamesburg, NJ, Ginny Young and her husband Norman of Jackson, NJ and Dooley Clickner and his wife Joni of Camp Verde, AZ. Two grandchildren; Shelby Young and Kendall Young. He is also survived by his long-time significant other; Lorraine E. Robinson of Califon, NJ and her children; Donald Robinson, Donna Moretti, Laura Watts and Joanna Jagacki.
Predeceased by two brothers; Dale Clickner and Pete Clickner.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 6pm-8pm and Friday, November 18, 2022 from 10:30am -11:30am with funeral service following at 11:30am at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
Memorials can be made to any heart or cancer research association of one’s choosing.
