Richard Finn Obituary

Richard Mitchell Finn, age 59, of Clinton Township, NJ passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at home. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly L. Finn, and their three sons: Liam, Colin, and Aidan Finn.

Richard was born on August 12, 1962 in New Rochelle, NY.  He grew up in White Plains, NY and moved to Clinton Township, NJ, 19 years ago to raise his family. He is a graduate of Archbishop Stepinac High School and Pace University, of White Plains, NY. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration - International Business Finance.

He was the son of the late William Bernard and Teresa Francis McArdle Finn.  After the death of his mother at a young age, he was raised by Ellen Hennebry (William) Finn, his mom.  Rich always honored his mother, Ellen Hennebry Finn, who raised him to be a man, husband, father, brother and uncle he so proudly became.

Richard was employed as a Project Manager at MedPro Systems, for 28 years where he loved his job and his team. The Finn family wishes to thank the Ungemach family and MedPro Systems for their support, care, and concern for Richard throughout his illness.

Richard’s joy in life was on the courts or fields coaching soccer, basketball, and baseball for his son’s teams.  He was a respected coach and mentor to many of the athletes instilling teamwork and a play hard attitude. He shared many lessons with his sons through sports and touched so many lives.  He also enjoyed hiking on the Columbia Trail in Highbridge NJ and walking the beach in Sea Girt Beach, NJ with his brother.  He was sensitive, kind, caring, and always willing to listen and share a bit of advice.  Richard was known for his gift of storytelling, sense of humor, and his truly amazing laugh.

His wife fondly referred to him as blue eyes and throughout his illness Richard wanted his family and friends to enjoy the happy moments, gather as a family, and create lasting memories.

Richard is also survived by his 10 siblings Bill Finn, Teri (Tom) Latimer, Vincent (Jackie) Finn,  Mary Ellen (Jack McGovern) Finn, Patrick (Maureen)Finn, Una (Alana Murphy) Finn, Tara (Joe Murphy) Finn, Terence (Carolyn) Finn,  James (Jennifer) Finn and Kelly (Justin) Koehler; sister-in-law Arlene (Michael) Finn; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his brother Michael Finn, brother-in-law Jack McGovern, and niece Emily Finn, daughter of Terence and Carolyn Finn.  He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Alden and Fran Hatch and brother-in-law; Steve Hatch.

The Finn family knows that Heroes and Saints work at Memorial Sloan Kettering.  We are grateful to Dr. Iyer and his team for their relentless support for Richard over the past four years.

Richard was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in High Bridge, NJ.
