Robert Blake Allison

Robert Blake Allison, age 75, of Long Valley, NJ passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 5, 1948 in Englewood, NJ.  Robert grew up in Clinton, NY and resided in Long Valley for the past 35 years. Before moving to Long Valley, he lived in Virginia Beach, VA. Rob also lived in Marietta, GA with Michele where they started their life together.

He was the son of the late William Stuart Allison II and Muriel Audrey Williams Allison. 

He was the husband of Michele Beth Boberg Allison. They were married for more than 38 years.

Robert earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA.  He began his career with Merck and, after 40 years of continued service, retired as an Account Executive for ICL in January of 2019. Rob was honored to be a member of the Racemics organization, the Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association (DCAT), and the Sales Association of the Chemical Industry (SACI).

Robert was always very active and social.  In the winter he enjoyed playing ice hockey and snow skiing.  He played with the Far Hills Hockey Club until his last game on his 65th birthday.  In the summer, Robert enjoyed sailing and waterskiing.  He was proud of his ability to barefoot waterski. It brought Rob great joy to pass along these skills to his children. Robert loved people and never wanted the party to end. He liked dancing, classic movies, and his watch collection. Above all else, Rob had unconditional love for his family and expressed it every day through words and actions.

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include two children; Jessica Beth Allison O’Heir and her husband Jesse Michael O’Heir of Whitehouse Station, NJ and Blake Justin Allison and his wife Claire Wang of Seattle, WA.  He is also survived by one brother; William Stuart Allison III and his wife Jia Wang of College Station, TX.

Predeceased by his brother John ‘Jack’ Williams Allison.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 1pm at Lower Valley Cemetery in Califon, NJ.
