Robert Francis Heffernan, age 74, of Tewksbury Twp., NJ passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.
He was born on July 24, 1947 in Bayonne, NJ. He resided in Tewksbury Twp., NJ for the past 34 years, moving from Bridgewater, NJ.
He was the son of the late Thomas and Paula (Batarri) Heffernan.
He was the husband of Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Ann (Jaczko) Heffernan, celebrating 53 years of marriage.
Robert was a US Army Veteran serving from 1969-1972 during the Vietnam War.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from University of Rhode Island. He owned and operated his own Real Estate Appraisal Business, Robert F. Heffernan SRA, SCGREA, in Lebanon, NJ.
Robert was a member of the Appraisal Institute, where he was also Past President. He also served on the Board of Adjustments in Tewksbury Twp. and was Mayor of Tewksbury Twp. in 2001.
Robert was also an active member of South Ridge Community Church in Clinton, NJ where he enjoyed participating in the Monday night men’s group.
He was an avid golfer. He enjoyed music and loved his two pit bulls. Most of all, Robert adored his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife include one daughter; Amy Webb and her husband Dan of Alpha, NJ. Five grandchildren; Sophie Goodell and her husband Anthony, Nate Webb, Anna Webb, John Webb and James Webb. One great-granddaughter; Norah Goodell. He is also survived by one brother; Thomas Heffernan of Macclenny, FL. Two nieces; Bonnie (Heffernan) Williams and Kristin (Heffernan) Crawley.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10:30am – 11:30am with Memorial Service beginning at 11:30am. All will take place at South Ridge Community Church, 7 Pittstown Road, Clinton, NJ 08809.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
