Roger William Zak, age 71, of Washington, NJ passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at home.
He was born on April 8, 1953 in Little Falls, Minnesota. He spent his childhood in Minnesota and later moved to Palmer, Alaska where he resided for many years. He moved to Washington, New Jersey three years ago.
He was the son of the late Peter Paul and Katharine Charlotte Kahlhamer Zak.
He was the husband of Rhonda Irene Bond Zak, celebrating 31 years of marriage.
Roger was a true entrepreneur. He operated The Unlimited/Alaska Hat & Apparel, a wholesale, distribution, and manufacturing business in the Alaskan tourism gift market until his retirement in 2017.
He was a member of an inventors group as he was always a ‘thinker’, holding three registered copyrights, two registered trademarks and two design patents.
Memberships also include the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Roger loved gardening, fishing and inventing things.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife include his step-son; Sean Pribbernow and his wife Amelia. Step-grandchildren; Marshall Pribbernow and Meadow Pribbernow. He is survived by Six siblings; Eunice Will and her husband Herman, Carolin Krueger, Joseph Zak and his wife Kathleen, Bernadette Augustinack, Richard Zak and Theresa Pull. He is also survived by his sister-in-law; Opal Zak and brother-in-law; Bruce Proell. Numerous nieces and nephews including Forrest Kostek and his wife Amber.
Predeceased by five siblings; Sylvia Piere, Cleora Augustinack, Paul Zak, Martha Proell and David Zak.
A memorial service will be held in Minnesota at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, New Jersey.
