Ronald William Christy

Ronald William Christy, age 70, of Readington Twp., NJ, passed away on September 23, 2025, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ surrounded by his loving family. 

Ronald was born on April 24, 1955, in Raritan Twp., NJ, to the late William and Margery (Sutton) Christy. He was a long-time resident of Bridgewater, NJ, before moving to Readington Twp., NJ in 2008, where he has resided since. 

Ronald was the beloved husband of Catherine (Brarens) Christy. Married in 1975, the two celebrated 50 years of marriage together. 

Ronald was the owner and operator of RW Christy Trucking, located in Bridgewater, NJ, where he also worked as a truck driver for many years. He was also the co-owner of Christy Farm, where he took great pleasure in caring for the animals. 

Ronald loved classic cars. He enjoyed attending car shows and cruise nights with his two ‘57 Chevys. He loved working on and restoring classic cars. For many years, he enjoyed vacationing on cruises, and he loved watching his favorite shows, Bonanza, Gunsmoke and the Waltons. 

In addition to his loving wife, Ronald is survived by his two loving sons: Ron Christy Jr. and his wife, Ashley, of Hillsborough, NJ, and Douglas Christy of Hillsborough, NJ. His three grandchildren: Richard Granja, Emily Granja, and Riley Christy. His four siblings: Darryl Christy and his wife, Brenda, of Woodstock, VA; Kelly Christy  (Tracie), of Maurertown, VA; Tracy Schleupner of Mt. Jackson, VA; Heidi Crider of Timberville, VA. His mother-in-law, Barbara Verhage of Waverly, NY. His sister-in-law, Nancy Perez, and her husband, Ramon, of Phillipsburg, NJ. His brother-in-law, Douglas Brarensof Mt. Poccono, PA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many beloved friends. 

Ronald is predeceased by his daughter, Dawn Marie Christy Granja, who passed away in 2023, and his sister, Bonnie Delawder. 

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 12 pm. All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main St., Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
