Rose F. Lanterman

Rose F. Lanterman, age 79, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Complete Care at Brakeley Park in Phillipsburg, NJ. 

She was born on February 26, 1944 in Phillipsburg, NJ.  She was a lifelong resident of New Jersey.

She was the daughter of the late Herbert Cook and Florence E. Barnes Lanterman. 

Rose worked in the laundry room at the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Union Twp., NJ from 1981 to 1985.

She was a previous member of the Bloomsbury Presbyterian Church where she was also a Deacon. 

Rose loved flowers, birds and doing word searches.  She loved crafts and playing bingo.  She really enjoyed the entertainment at the nursing home.  She was always very helpful and a good friend. 

Survivors include three sons; George Smith and his wife Jennifer of Parsippany, NJ, Frank Smith and his wife Debbie of Battle Ground, WA and John Smith. Three granddaughters; Emily, Serena and Gabrielle.  Two brothers; Frank Lanterman and his wife Diane of Randolph, NJ and Donald Lanterman of Oxford, NJ.  One sister; Barbara Ann Schmidt of Easton, PA.  Several nieces and nephews including Kenneth Lanterman, William Lanterman and his wife Lisa and Wendy Walgren and her husband Dean.

Predeceased by her son; Michael Smith, sister-in-laws; Linda Lanterman and Rose Lanterman, brother-in-law; Milton Schmidt.  One niece; Barbara A. Bolmer. 

Calling hours will take place on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 10am - 12pm with funeral service at 12pm.  All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment will follow at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Blairstown, NJ.
