Roy P. Hockenbury

Roy P. Hockenbury, age 87, of Franklin Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at home.

He was born on December 9, 1934 at home in Annandale, NJ.  He was a life-long resident of Hunterdon County. 

He was the son of the late Floyd and Flora Eichlin Hockenbury.

Roy was the husband of Janice E. Woodward Hockenbury, celebrating 63 years of marriage.

He owned and operated Roy Hockenbury Oil Burner Service in Annandale, NJ until his retirement.

Memberships include past member of Clinton Fire Department.  Roy enjoyed his involvement with local Fire Companies over the many years of his membership.

Roy was an avid hunter and enjoyed being a member of a local Hunting Club.  Most of all, he adored his family and loved spending time with them. 

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include one son; Keith Hockenbury and his girlfriend Barbara Lamont of Whitehouse, NJ.  One daughter; Cynthia Coppola and her husband Thomas of Brick, NJ.  Three grandchildren; Nicole Slater and her husband Ian, Thomas Coppola and Matthew Coppola.  Two great-grandchildren; Abigail and Caroline.  Two brothers; Walter Hockenbury and his wife Marilyn of GA and Russell Hockenbury and his wife Beverly of Franklin Twp., NJ. 

Predeceased by two brothers; Marvin ‘Jake’ Hockenbury and Richard Hockenbury.  One sister; Edith Hockenbury. 

Calling hours will take place on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2-4pm with Firemen’s Funeral Service at 4pm.  All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment will take place on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 1pm at Rural Hill Cemetery in Readington Twp., NJ.
