Sherry Havens, age 79, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.

Sherry was born Shirley Ann Wodrich on July 31, 1942, in Plainfield, NJ to late parents William F. and Elizabeth (Sheelen) Wodrich. She spent her childhood in North Plainfield. She moved with her family to Cokesbury in 1976. In August, Sherry celebrated 58 years of marriage with her husband Peter G. Havens, Sr.

Sherry studied Fine Arts at Caldwell College and continued her passion for painting throughout her life. She started her career with NJ Bell Telephone in Newark. Later, she enjoyed substitute teaching for the art programs in the Clinton area school districts. Following in her parents’ footsteps, Sherry became a successful real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Clinton, a career that spanned over 37 years. She was proud of her accreditations including CRS – Certified Residential Specialist, GRI – Graduate REALTOR Institute and SRES – Senior Real Estate Specialist. She was a member of the National Real Estate Association and Hunterdon County Board of Realtors. Sherry attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in High Bridge, NJ.

Family and friends will remember Sherry’s warm smile and friendly voice. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, baking, and knitting. She loved the water, no matter what the temperature, from Chatham in Cape Cod to the Jersey shore and cherished her pool at home. Later in life she joined a local deep-water volleyball team.

She is survived by her beloved husband Peter Sr, their daughter Janet and husband Bill Riddle of Pittstown, NJ, son Peter Jr. of Sarasota FL and adored grandchildren Alex, James, Kristen, Sean, Alyssa and Brianne, her sister Jeanne and her husband Edmund Sage of Warren, NJ, her brother William F.
