Stella Robinson

Stella Robinson passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at home in Annandale, NJ with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 29, 1917 in Newark, NJ where she lived, attended school, and graduated from Wilfred Academy of Beauty. She went on to work as a beautician in Millburn, NJ and later worked at Westinghouse Electric Company making precision instruments for fighter planes during World War II. 

She met Granville Robinson, originally of Newark, DE, at a mutual friend’s wedding and the two married on August 28, 1949 before moving to a farm in Clinton Township together in 1953. There she taught baking as an Institutional Trade Instructor at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women for 18 years until she retired in 1982. 

An active member of the Women’s Society at the Annandale Reformed Church for over 60 years, Stella enjoyed organizing bakesales, fundraisers, and luncheons with her fellow ladies. She is also a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Stewart Chapter #166, of which she was a member for over 50 years. 

She and her husband Granville spent 57 adventurous years socializing and traveling together before his passing in 2006. Stella loved reading, playing scrabble, doing crossword puzzles, cooking chicken and soups, baking pies, tending her gardens, and adopting any cat that came to her door.

She is survived by her daughter Martha Kisielewski and her husband John, also of Clinton Township, and one grandaughter, Alexandra of NYC. She leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. 

Calling hours will be Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 10am to 12pm.  Funeral will follow at 12pm.  All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Cokesbury, NJ.
