Steven J. Behnke

Steven J. Behnke, age 73, of Kingwood Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ. 

He was born on August 3, 1952 in Lincoln Park, NJ.  He spent his childhood in Lincoln Park, NJ before moving to Hunterdon County, where he resided in Whitehouse Station and Kingwood Twp., NJ for many years.

He was the son of the late Joseph Francis and Patricia Ann (Porter) Behnke.  

Steven was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.  He worked for over 40 years with Local #825 in Springfield, NJ before starting his own company, Jersey Equipment Repair.  

He loved camping, working on cars, and riding his Harley.  

Survivors include two sons; Eric Behnke of Somerville, NJ and Joseph Behnke and his wife Kristy of Rock Springs, WY.  Three brothers; Skip Behnke and his wife Peg of Highland :Lakes, NJ, Vinnie Behnke and his wife Janet of Vernon, NJ and David Behnke and his wife Donna of Lubbock, ME. Several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime companion; Patricia Ann Ninaltowski of Kingwood Twp., NJ.  

Predeceased by two sisters; Patty Ann Behnke and Joann Behnke.  

All services will be private.
