Susan C. Barto

Susan C. Barto, age 82, of Hillsborough, NJ passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at All American Assisted Living in Hillsborough, NJ. 

She was born on June 21, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY.  She resided in Hillsborough, NJ since 2020, moving from Lebanon, NJ. 

Susan was the daughter of the late William and Ada Birra Forcellon.

Her beloved husband, Harry W. Barto III passed away in 2001. 

She is also predeceased by her son; Dr. William M. Barto, a historian and college professor at Fulton-Montgomery Community College in NY, who died in 2000.

She worked as a Legal Secretary until her retirement. 

Susan was a very prolific and passionate writer.  She was previously published in Reminiscence Magazine and was still writing up until her passing.  She was also an avid reader.

Survivors include one brother, William Forcellon and his wife Mary Ellen.  Many beloved cousins and friends including, Annette, her pen pal of 75 years.

Private interment at St. Teresa’s Cemetery in Summit, NJ will take place.
