Susan Jean Tinnes

Susan Jean Tinnes, age 81, of Califon, NJ passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Rolling Hills Care Center in Lebanon, NJ.

She was born on January 4, 1943 in Somerville, NJ.  She was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County.

She was the daughter of the late Frank Wack Jr. and Pauline Young Wack.

Susan was the wife of Mathew E. Tinnes, celebrating 40 years of marriage.

She spent her career working as an Office Manager for Dr. Thompson in Califon until her retirement. 

Memberships include the Order of the Eastern Star Hobart Chapter in High Bridge, NJ.

Susan loved entertaining, shopping, baking and cooking.  Years ago, she enjoyed riding her bike.  She was a devoted wife and grandmother who adored her family and loved spending time with them.

Survivors in addition to her loving husband include two sons; Gregory VanNatta of Califon, NJ and Jeffrey VanNatta of Easton, PA.  Four grandchildren; Amanda McKinney and her husband Ryan of Glen Gardner, NJ, Christopher VanNatta of Piscataway, NJ, Taylor Cook and her husband Trevor of Easton, PA and Lauren VanNatta of NJ.  One great-granddaughter; Cree Cook.  She is also survived by one sister; Saundra Gary and her husband Edward of KY.

Predeceased by one daughter; Melissa Blight. 

A memorial service will be planned in the spring.
