Tamara ‘Tammy’, also known affectionately as ‘Tat’, M. Wubbenhorst, age 61, of Lebanon Twp., NJ, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ, with her loving family by her side.
Tammy was born on March 28, 1964, to the late Walter and Mary Ann (Dunchick) Wubbenhorst in Flemington, NJ. She was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, NJ, residing in Lebanon Township, NJ, for the past 33 years.
Tammy was a graduate of the University of Delaware, where she earned her undergraduate degree. She later earned her masters from Nova Southeastern University.
Tammy taught French at West Morris Mendham and Central High Schools, both in Mendham, NJ, and Chester, NJ, until her retirement. She then worked as a substitute teacher for the Unified program at Voorhees High School in Glen Gardner, NJ.
Tammy was a longtime active member of Califon United Methodist Church in Califon, NJ.
Tammy loved everything about France, from the culture to the food. Her nickname ‘Tat’ means ‘Auntie’ in French, which her nephews affectionately referred to her as. She was very active in the Boy Scouts with her nephews, serving in a leadership role. She was also a beloved volunteer of the Voorhees High School Marching Band in Glen Gardner, NJ. Tammy would help with many aspects of the marching band, and continued to help even after her nephews had graduated from Voorhees. Tammy was an avid reader. She also had a love for music and enjoyed taking piano lessons.
Tammy is survived by her sister, Kathryn Weber, and her husband, Kurtis, of Lebanon Township, NJ. She is also survived by her nephews, James and Tristan Weber.
All services are private.
Arrangements are under the direction of Naughtright-Scarponi Funeral Home in High Bridge, NJ.
