Theoren “Cole” Murvin Obituary

Theoren “Cole” Murvin, 28, of Winter Garden, Florida, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in New Iberia, Louisiana.

Born on July 7, 1997, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Theoren J. Murvin III and Melody L. Simerson, Cole spent his early childhood in Tennessee and New Jersey before moving to Florida in 2003.

Cole had a lifelong love for the skies. After obtaining his private license from Sunair Aviation, he went on to earn additional licenses and build flight hours, ultimately creating a career as a dedicated flight instructor with Sunair Aviation in Leesburg, FL. He took great pride in helping others achieve their dreams of flying, and he hoped to follow in his father’s footsteps by one day flying for a major airline.

Outside of aviation, Cole found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Known as a “fish whisperer” by those who fished alongside him, he also took pride in the delicious meals he cooked, with his signature buffalo chicken wings being a favorite. He loved golfing with his dad, laughing with his siblings, and spending time with family. Some of his happiest moments were spent antiquing with his mom and talking for hours about everything under the sun. Cole embraced challenges, whether it was perfecting his golf swing, experimenting in the kitchen, or seeking out the spiciest hot sauce he could find.

Cole is survived by his daughter, Madison Marie Murvin, of Florida; his mother, Melody Landon Simerson; his father, Theoren Jerrold Murvin III, and stepmother, Sarah Murvin; his triplet siblings, McKenzie “Mickey” Madison (Alexander David) Murvin-Marsh of Washington, D.C., and Clinton Charles Murvin of Florida; his sister, Morgan Leigh (Thomas Jay Jr.) Rottinghaus of Cincinnati, OH; and his maternal grandparents, Randall and Shirley Simerson of Whitehouse Station, NJ. He is also remembered by many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Theoren Jerrold Murvin Jr. and Bonnie Mae Murvin.

Viewing will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10am to 11am at Stanton Reformed Church, 1 Stanton Mountain Road, Stanton, NJ. A service to celebrate Cole’s life will follow at 11am at the church, with interment to follow at Newell Cemetery on Foothill Road in Stanton, NJ.
