Thomas Vincent Cioffi

Thomas Vincent Cioffi, aged 69, of Clinton Township New Jersey passed away at home on Monday, October 14, 2024. He was born on March 12, 1955 in Manhattan, New York, but considered himself a free spirit, a country boy at Heart, whose family and friends were most important to him.

He was the son of the Vincent Ralph Cioffi who passed in 2019 and Pearl Edna Cioffi who passed in 2020. Before preschool Tom had a  French nanny, Meme, who taught him French during his school years. He spent summers with his Southern relatives, where he developed a passion for fishing and hunting. He learned to swim during a fishing trip. The tradition was his uncle Bill would throw the person who did not know how to swim in the lake.

Tom left New Jersey for college in Virginia. During the first parents weekend, his father learned Tom was earning a degree and popcorn popping. Tom was very social. His father packed him up and brought him back to New Jersey to attend Raritan Valley community college for two years before transferring to Rutgers University. During school break the free spirited on hitchhike to North Carolina, sleeping under bridges, to visit his aunt Bonnie. Since nobody was aware of Tom visiting, she was surprised at his arrival and made him strip all his clothes so she could wash them and send him straight to the shower and give him his uncles clothes.

Graduating from Rutgers with a bachelors degree in arts, majoring in music (drums) he visited his aunt Myla in the Netherlands and travel across Europe, became friends with the band golden earrings. Upon returning to the US, Tom formed several bands, Including highroller and Cairo. Cairo was inducted into the county rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame on March 25, 2023.

After holding various sales positions, Tom became an operations manager at Enpro Inc., which allowed him to be close to his parents to take care of them.

He is survived by many beloved, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, October 24 at 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home 26 Main St., Lebanon, NJ. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday at 12 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 316 Old Allerton Rd., Annandale, New Jersey followed by burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Annandale, New Jersey.
