Valarie Lynn Newschwander

Valarie Lynn (Stevenson) Newschwander, age 59, of Lebanon Twp., NJ, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at home. 

Valarie was born on August 16, 1966, to the late Glenn and Nancy (Marsh) Stevenson in Florida. Valarie grew up in Hunterdon County, NJ. She then lived in Bergen County, NJ, for many years before moving back to Califon, NJ, where she has resided since. 

Valarie graduated from Voorhees High School in Glen Gardner, NJ, and went on to Middlesex County College to complete her Licensed Practical Nurse certification. She worked as an LPN for home health care for most of her career. 

Valarie was a hard worker and dedicated to her work as a nurse. She loved dogs, which inspired her to start a mobile dog grooming business for a short period. She was very intelligent and loved learning. She loved going to the beach and walking. She loved to read and watch soap operas and Lifetime movies. Valarie was always smiling and laughing and was beloved by family and friends. 

Valarie is survived by her daughter, Ashley Virga. Her granddaughters, Sophia and Gabriella Virga. Her sister, Dawn Karvanick, and her husband, Chip, of High Bridge, NJ. Her aunt, Carol Baker, and her husband, George. She is also survived by her cousins Jennifer Baker and Chris Baker.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Arrangements under the direction of Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
