Vera Whitesell

Vera Whitesell, age 90, of Bridgewater, NJ passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Sunrise Senior Living in Bridgewater, NJ.

She was born on November 23, 1930 in Manville, NJ.  She spent much of her life in Bridgewater, NJ. 

She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Gebrin Kepenach.

Her husband, James A. Whitesell, passed away in 1999.

Vera worked for many years as a Bookkeeper for Richard’s Fuel Oil/Pool Company in Somerville until her retirement.  Years prior, she worked for the YMCA in Somerville. 

Vera enjoyed reading, shopping, spending time at her home in Atlantic City with family and traveling with her husband.  She also loved dogs.

Survivors include two sons; James A. Whitesell and his wife Amy of GA and David Whitesell and his wife Cindy of Bridgewater, NJ.  Three daughters; Charlene M. Brookman and her husband John of Las Vegas, NV, Amy S. Blanchard and her husband Eric of FL and Wendy J. Hazard and her husband Jeff of Easton, PA.  Four grandsons, two granddaughters and one great-grandson.  She is also survived by one brother; John Kepenach and his wife Marcia of FL.

Predeceased in addition to her husband by one son; Michael Whitesell who passed away in January 2021.  Six siblings; Helen, Mary, Anna, Paul, Julia and Margaret. 

Memorial service to celebrate Vera and her son Michael’s life will take place on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 11am at Bradley Gardens Reformed Church, 124 Old York Road, Bridgewater, NJ.  Interment will be private. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
