Vincenza 'Enza' Emiliani Obituary

Vincenza (Enza) Emiliani, 83, of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in Naples, FL.

She was born February 28, 1938 in Montelepre, Italy to Vincenzo and Susanna Pizzurro.

She was married to Domenic Emiliani for 60 years and resided in Washington, NJ.

She was one of eight children, her seven siblings continue to reside in Montelepre, Italy all having a very strong bond to each other and creating new and wonderful memories during their many reunions over the years.

Enza is a long time resident of East Brunswick and Warren, NJ.

Surviving are three daughters, Rosemarie (Todd) Paulus, Anna (Armond) Suraci and Nancy (Ken) Daugenti. Seven grandchildren including Todd J. Paulus, Alexa Paulus, John Balazinski III (Kristy), Julia Biondi (Cody), A.J. Suraci, Domenic Daugenti and Gia Daugenti. Also great-granddaughter Blakelyn R. Balazinski. Pizzurro sisters, Sebastiana, Giuseppa, Susanna, Francesca, Maria, Giovanna (deceased) and brother Giuseppe (deceased). She was also survived by many nieces and nephews both in USA and Sicily.

Enza immigrated from Montelepre with her husband in 1962. Awaiting their arrival in America was her husband’s brother, the late James Emiliani and his wife Mary and their family who welcomed Enza with the greatest love and affection as she began her new journey. They quickly went on to pursue the American dream and opened Roma Beauty Supply (Emiliani Branch II) in 1969 and helped to grow the family business. She and her husband made a strong team as they built their commercial real estate business in Edison NJ.

After retirement, Enza and her husband kept homes in New Jersey, Sicily and Florida. She looked forward to the winters where she enjoyed watching ‘her’ Florida sunsets with her husband. Her joyful and cheerful spirit won over everyone she encountered. Those who knew Enza, knew her love and passion for her family and animals of all kinds. She enjoyed cooking, reading and playing card games with family and friends. She also had a unique gift to make people and animals around her feel so loved. She was a devout Catholic who loved to pray to the “Chaplet of the Divine Mercy.” She will always be remembered for having a zest for life and being the ‘captain’ of the family.
