Virginia A. Whiteley

Virginia A. Whiteley, age 79, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at CareOne at Madison Avenue in Morristown, NJ. 

She was born on May 11, 1942 in Whitehouse, NJ.  She spent her childhood in Whitehouse and resided in Clinton Twp. since 1967.

She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Sophie Jerzewski Samuel.

She was the wife of Robert J. Whiteley, celebrating 54 years of marriage.

Virginia was a long-time member of the Annandale Reformed Church and an active member of a local Senior Club. She enjoyed spending her free time shopping, doing puzzles, tending to her flower gardens, and baking during the holidays.  Virginia and Robert enjoyed spending time in Vermont and the Amish Country of Pennsylvania, enjoying the local culture and searching out antiques to add to their collections. She enjoyed spending time with friends and cherished her time with her family.  She was avid sports enthusiast and looked forward to watching and attending games of her beloved NJ Devils. 

Survivors in addition to her loving husband include one son; Brian Whiteley and his wife Kate of Lebanon, NJ along with her grandson; Brendan Whiteley.  One daughter; Kathy Whiteley and her partner Michael Sadusky of Union Twp., NJ..  She is also survived by her siblings; Frances Whiteley and her husband Jack of Whitehouse, NJ, Bernadette Masterpol and her husband James ‘Jim’ of Flemington, NJ and Matthew Samuel II and his wife Bonnie of Fuquay-Varina, NC.  Along with several nieces and nephews. Her family will sadly miss her.

Calling hours will be Friday, July 30, 2021 from 1-4pm and Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 12pm to 1pm.  Funeral will follow on Saturday at 1pm.  All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment at Union Cemetery in Lebanon, NJ.
