Virginia Wrede

Virginia Wrede slipped into God’s loving arms, and reunited with her daughter and mother, on Friday, January 14, 2022. She was 79 years old and resided in Lopatcong, NJ at the time of her passing. Virginia raised her four children in Millington, NJ for 28 years, and later resided in beautiful Hunterdon County for over 31 years. Virginia, known to many as “Ginny,” and affectionately called “Grandma Lipstick” by some of her grandchildren, was born in Bloomfield, NJ to the late Florence (Venner) Turtlott and Edward L. Keelen. Virginia was an extremely devoted mother to her four children and a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren. She was a fierce animal lover, rescuing and caring for many animals throughout her lifetime. Virginia loved gardening and being a member of Sweet Adeline’s International, a worldwide singing group, where she was an avid seamstress and constructed her own costumes throughout the years. She also cherished the time spent with her family - cooking delicious meals for them, with our family-favorite homemade macaroni & cheese, amongst many specialities fused from a long line of Wrede traditions. She also adored decorating and entertaining in her lovely homes, on our boat, and at the Wrede family farm. Virginia is survived by three children; Kenneth Wrede and his wife Lorraine of Pittstown, NJ, Douglas Wrede of Easton, PA, and Lauren Wrede of Phillipsburg, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Paige and Nolan, DJ, Ashley and Noah, and Jennifer and Jason.  She was predeceased by her daughter,  Christine Tepke. Visitation and entombment will be private.
